Black Bear Campground - Day 2

9/11 - Never Forget

The pitter patter of the overnight rain subsided and after the overcast skies of Saturday morning gave way to the sun in all its blazing glory, I set things up outside and proceeded to get in another few chapters of reading.  In the afternoon sun, the temperature rose to 99°. As predicted, the skies opened up once again around 4:00 pm and for the rest of the evening and overnight, a downpour. No problem, says I. So the better part of the day was spent indoors accomplishing my favorite activity.....that of booking and locking in dates for my "2016 Winter Adventure."  So far, what follows is the first half of the journey. Next up, the return trip. I'm banking on the fact that this winter will not be anything like last year. The Farmer's Almanac states otherwise: :-(
"According to the Farmers’ Almanac, the winter of 2015–2016 is looking like a repeat of last winter, at least in terms of temperatures with unseasonably cold conditions over the Atlantic Seaboard, eastern portions of the Great Lakes, and the lower peninsula of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, most of the Tennessee and Mississippi Valley, as well as much of the Gulf Coast."

So, with that being said, here's my future:

I also decided to bake that bread in my slo-cooker. Results were very satisfying

This will eliminate one problem I faced with last year's
nasty weather in the south.  No more frozen water hose.
Good till -40°

  1. You really accomplished a lot with your planning. For us, since we are traveling off-season, just stopping when you've had enough is a pleasure. But, I will need to get organized and begin booking some FL campgrounds for March very soon.

    Enjoy your current stay.

    Safe travels, my friend.
